This blog was created with the intentions of informing our wonderful and loyal customers of our ongoing renovation, improved customer relations and our overall improvement to the legacy that is The Pavilion. And that’s exactly what we plan to continue to do…
Approximately 2 months after our first post, we’ve made loads of progress and improvements - and we’re still planning more!
Renovation
One of our more visual improvements comes to us with our new interior painting theme. Clean, crisp white, royal and timeless blue coat all of our historical ways - refreshing the decor of The Pavilion. Lavish gold diamonds accent the halls and doorways of the theater and each of it’s nine showrooms, welcoming guests to a new and improved movie house. While we update the outdated, we didn’t diminish the classic. Several walls and accents throughout the theater have been left untouched in an effort to cherish their historical presence within our walls. As well, countless fixtures, posters, and framed memorabilia have been preserved for display in key areas of the Pavilion.

Repairs
One can imagine the effort and sensitivity needed to preserve the structure & quality of an 80-year old theater - one of the last movie houses in Brooklyn! Creaks and cracks, holes & hiccups float throughout the building with repairs a’plenty. We’re starting at the top and working our way through with repairs to the ceiling first & foremost . Check out our handy work:

Customer Relations
Naturally, our customer relations is one of our most important areas of improvement and maintenance. We truly value each and every Pavilion moviegoer who walks into our doors and shares our screen with their friends and family. It’s the loyal people of Park Slope who’ve especially contributed to the rich and character-filled history of The Pavilion since it’s doors opened in 1928. For each of you, we Thank you!

To the future…and beyond!
A large part of keeping the legacy of The Pavilion rich is progressing in it’s future. We want the theater not to just be a place to watch movies, but a place to catch up with friends, relax and enjoy your time off and embrace new memories - all in the heart of Park Slope.
With the remolding of our second floor concession, we’d like to expand our food and beverage options to grow with our theater’s new vision. With that, we’ve recently petitioned the Brooklyn Community Board 6 for approval on obtaining a liquor license. Yes, an adult beverage and beer license to feature five liquors, select beers and wines for the customers of The Pavilion. The best part? You’ll be able to drink these beverages inside the theater while you’re watching your favorite movie! Check us out in the papers:

We also have plans to feature independent films, small production movies and artist nights with live entertainment and exhibits. The Brooklyn community is flushed with amazing and wonderful talent all across the spectrum, and we would like to feature it for our customers. We’d also love to hear your suggestions! Have an artist you’d like to see on display? Know of a small band who needs a good space to perform? Let us know! The Pavilion is your theater - help us make it that way!
Can’t wait to see you at the movies!
They say a picture is worth a thousand words…
We say, this one may just leave you speechless.
Despite wide rumor that The Pavilion Theater is still unclean, we’d like to present to you, our customers, our ‘A’ for excellent cleanliness and sanitation, awarded to us by the New York City Sanitation on September 6th, 2012.
According to the NYC Sanitation Department of Health webpage:
A restaurant’s score depends on how well it follows City and State food safety requirements. Inspectors check for food handling, food temperature, personal hygiene, facility and equipment maintenance and vermin control. Each violation earns a certain number of points. At the end of the inspection, the inspector totals the points and this number is the restaurant’s inspection score; the lower the score, the better.
Pretty simple: We’ve cleaned up our act and have an ‘A’ to prove it. Thanks NYC Sanitation Department of Health! Stop by anytime!
